Seeing a model house of the floor plan we picked made the decision for us. The location, on the other hand, was not the easiest thing to sort out. The hardest decision for us was to decide on where to put the house. I preferred being by the lake, while my husband preferred being close to shopping areas. We have decided to build because we realized from owning a house in our previous location that we preferred things a certain way. We were able to change some things about the house to make it suit us more.

Looking for a new home is not the easiest thing in the world. As many of you have seen on HGTV or other shows on TV, no one home is truly perfect. Ten days for house hunting is not that much when the area is totally new so do your research. Where to eat and where to stay came in at the top of our list.

While homeowners can imagine how their new home would be, I think it is important to let their kids imagine things for themselves as well. Having moved so many times, we often forget that while we are used to this, the kids might not be. Especially when the author has not had much experience in moves or when he or she does not have kids.
